Mazda has always been a name associated with affordable quality and reliable innovation. For the 2017 model year, Mazda engineers went back to the drawing board to improve the 2017 CX-9 model year over its predecessor – and succeeded. The new Mazda CX-9 for 2017 earned the highest-possible safety rating from the IIHS, resulting in the Top Safety Pick+ title.
In recent years, in order to adapt to swiftly changing technology, the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has been gradually changing qualifications for the title in order to make them stricter. For 2017, not only do vehicles that take home the Top Safety Pick+ title have to earn top marks in every single crash category, but they also have to be equipped with front crash prevention technology. The 2017 Mazda CX-9 made changes to how its side-curtain airbags deployed, allowing them to more effectively protect passengers in the crossover.
The new Mazda CX-9 not only represents a continuation of the brand’s commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence but also family-friendly safety. If you’re looking for a spacious, three-row crossover that will keep your family secure, come to Bakersfield Mazda and we can show you our inventory of the new Mazda CX-9 today.
You may have heard of a 21-gun salute, but what about a 44-Miata marriage proposal? Many men work hard to find creative ways to propose, but, at least in the automotive world, Colin Burgess’s proposal may take the cake.
Recently, aerial photographer Burgess decided to propose to his girlfriend, Caitlin, with the help of 44 Mazda Miatas. Burgess had the Miatas spell out “Marry Me?” and then flew his aerial photography drone overhead while his girlfriend watched the camera. After realizing the question was for her, she said yes.
According to a CNN interview, the couple had their first date in his red 1992 Miata, which he used to form part of the “M” in “Marry.”
Everybody loves a Miata; however, with a baby on the way, the couple may need to upgrade to something a bit bigger. Perhaps a Mazda CX-5 or CX-9 is in their future.
Here at Bakersfield Mazda we want to congratulate the happy couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness together.

More bang for your buck: Usually monthly lease payments are lower than buying, so you can afford more options
Warranty coverage: many people like to lease for the allotted time in the manufacturer’s warranty coverage- this way repairs are always covered
Lower up-front cash: many require little or no down payment and you only pay tax on the portion of the value that you use during your lease

The all new 2013 Mazda CX-9 was revealed recently during the 2012 Australian Motor Show, and felt that one show wasn’t quite enough. The completely redesigned crossover got the new design style that Mazda has chosen called “Kodo”, but on top of that the flagship SUV also got an update with new luxurious amenities, technology, a new infotainment system and improved voice recognition features.
Though with all the interior and exterior upgrades the only thing that seems to have remained the same is the engine. The 2012 CX-9 was recently upgraded to the SkyActive Technology, and Mazda felt that their 3.7 Liter V6 as already an upgrade enough so they are sticking to it. Though there have been rumors that a new 2.2 Liter Diesel engine could possibly make its way to U.S. market putting out 170 HP and 300 Lb-Ft of Torque.
All this being said Mazda felt like it need more of a showcase so they put together a video showing off their new redesign and we have it right here for you. So you haven’t gotten the virtual or real tour of the new 2013 Mazda CX-9 here is your chance.
Mazda planned to hold on to the new 2013 Mazda CX-9 reveal until the Australian International Motor Show that will take place in mid-October, but it seems they could hold out any longer. The new design is another step of Mazda’s out of the Nagare design plans that were cognizant of their past models and into the new Kodo-influence designs.
There has been much speculation as to whether or not Mazda could transition the bigger body of the 2013 Mazda CX-9 into the Kodo treatment, as well as the new CX-5 and Mazda6 Sedan has done. But it seems Mada has lived up to the challenge. The front end flows seamlessly into the body, still giving the sporty look of the Kodo treatment. There have been no details as to what has been changed to the rear of the 2013 Mazda CX-9 or even the interior but there seems to be proof that the headlamps will include LED running lights and a much more defined housing for the foglamps.
The only known details about the drivetrain is that Mazda states the 2013 Mazda CX-9 will carry over the current CX-9’s 3.7 Liter V6 with a six-speed automatic, and will likely be mated to both a front-wheel and all-wheel drive system. We can guess that it will be getting some Sky-Activ treatment to boost as well.
