Mazda Teams Up with Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Million Dollar Challenge

For the 4th year running, Mazda will act as title sponsor for the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Million Dollar Challenge. The seven-day cycling event in California aims to raise at least $1 million in the support of people with physical challenges to live active lifestyles through sports and fitness.

The challenge will kick off on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, in San Francisco. A group of more than 125 cyclists, including professional athletes, celebrities, and a group of 15 athletes with physical challenges will embark on a 620-mile ride that will span seven days, ending in San Diego.

“Support from the Mazda Foundation has helped the Million Dollar Challenge become more than a ride of a lifetime, but an event where individuals can use their passion for cycling to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Bill Geppert, interim CEO of the Challenged Athletes Foundation in a statement. “Our partnership with the Mazda Foundation has been mutually successful because our missions are so closely aligned around the goal of helping others  – those with able bodies and those with physical challenges – realize their aspirations and dreams.”

Partnering with Mazda’s Drive for Good Campaign

Have you been considering buying a Mazda? Now is the season. Mazda’s Drive for Good campaign will offer a donation to the charity of your choice from now until Jan. 2.

Mazda's Drive for Good

For each new Mazda our customers purchase, Mazda will donate $100 dollars to one of four charities. You can choose between St. Jude’s Research Hospital, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and Mazda Foundation.

Mazda employees and dealers will also give one hour of service to a charitable organization for every test-drive performed during the holiday season.

“Mazda and its dealers have always had a history of charitable giving and it is time that we include our customers in doing good things for those in need,” said Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda North American Operations president and CEO.

“In typical Mazda fashion, it isn’t just about writing a check. That is why we wanted to go the extra mile and donate an hour of charitable service for every test drive. Mazda, its employees, and dealers want to give not only their money, but also time, attention, and hard work to help others.”
