Mazda CX-5 Design and Technology Gets Upgrades for 2017 Model Year

The new Mazda CX-5 is back, with an innovative new design and some high-tech gadgets. This model is renowned for its bold and sporty styling, as well as its capable powertrain and comfortable interior. However, the new 2017 model year is getting some exciting upgrades that you won’t want to miss. Read on to see what’s new for the 2017 CX-5.

Mazda CX-5 design and technology upgrades begin with the new looks. According to CarScoops, the exterior is getting some slight, yet noticeable changes. This includes a more refined look, with sharper contours, and distinct lighting. It also gets an additional 10mm in width—for improved stability and a more athletic look—as well as a new grille. The A-pillars have been pushed back by 35mm, and a redesigned roofline is truly inspired.

In terms of technology, the new CX-5 is getting things like a 7-inch display on top of the dash—a look inspired by Mercedes-Benz—and an available Bose premium sound system. You also get the Mazda Connect system with smartphone integration, letting you easily access apps, music, media, and more.

Finally, the CX-5 is more convenient than ever thanks to some intelligent safety systems. These include things like Mazda Radar Cruise Control, which lets you set a distance as well as a speed so you don’t have to turn cruise on and off for slow cars on the highway. A torque vectoring system improved performance based on steering inputs, and available Traffic Sign Recognition can actually read road and safety signs to give you info. Here at Bakersfield Mazda, we can’t wait to see the new Mazda CX-5 in action.
