2015 Mazda CX-5 Named One of the Most Fun and Best SUVs under $25k

Kelley Blue Book recently named the new 2015 Mazda CX-5 to its lists of Most Fun SUVs and Best SUVs under $25k! The refreshed CX-5 struck a chord with KBB and consumers everywhere with its affordability, sporty design, and aggressive handling when it was named one of the most fun SUVs to drive.

The new CX-5 also made a name for itself on KBB’s 10 Best All-Wheel-Drive Vehicles Under $25k list. The price point of the AWD CX-5 astounded KBB and others because it is able to offer drivers so much at such an affordable price compared to many competitors.

KBB said, “Like most of the automaker’s entries, Mazda CX-5 compact SUV is among the most fun-to-drive, most stylish vehicles in its class. Optional all-wheel drive only adds to its abilities.”

2016 Mazda CX-3 Details: It’s One Hot New Subcompact

Mazda revealed its new 2016 CX-3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, and it’s one of many smaller vehicles on a long list of the industry’s car subgenre. The CX-3 is a lot like the CX-5, but this subcompact is marketed toward a younger audience. It’s smaller and—more importantly—it’s cheaper.

The 2016 Mazda CX-3 details include a structure brand new to the US, that of the Mazda2 hatchback, which is being sold in other markets; though, the CX-3 will have all-wheel drive as well as a larger body and bigger wheels than the Mazda 2.

The 2016 Mazda CX-3 will be a slightly smaller version of the CX-5 pictured here.

Mazda also claims a “world first” for the CX-3: a “wheel slip warning detection system.” This technology could presumably give drivers a heads-up about when their wheels are likely to slip, though Mazda has yet to clarify what it actually does.

With small SUVs and subcompacts quickly becoming the most popular cars in America, the 2016 Mazda CX-3 will likely be a hit with new drivers looking for an affordable ride that can fit into tight, city spaces.

2016 Mazda CX-5 Facelift Leaks Ahead of LA Auto Show

The LA Auto Show officially starts for the press on Wednesday, at which point we expect to get our first full look at the new and improved 2016 Mazda CX-5. Because we live in the age of the Internet, you can get your first look at it right now.

Turns out that World Car Fans got a hold of a brochure that previews the few modest yet noticeable changes that will grace the 2016 CX-5 when it hits showrooms like that of Bakersfield Mazda next year.

2016 Mazda CX-5

There will be modest changes from this 2015 CX-5 for the 2016 model year.

From what we gather, the 2016 CX-5 will have new bumpers in front and back, updated headlights, and a new grille pattern. The brochure also alludes to LED elements in the headlights, but it’s possible (and likely) that they won’t be making their way stateside.

On the inside, you can expect the newest and grooviest version of the Mazda Connect infotainment interface.

Apart from this, it’s hard to say with any certainty what—if any—significant changes Mazda will make during the CX-5’s mid-cycle refresh. If Mazda’s track record is any indication, whatever it decides to do will only serve to make the 2016 CX-5 the best compact SUV on the market.

Mazda6 Has Best September in 9 Years; CX-5 Has Best September Ever

The Mazda brand is on the rise, and the CX-5 and Mazda6 both enjoyed record months in September. Thanks to the success of these two models, Mazda sales in North America climbed 6.7% over sales from September 2013; year-to-date sales are up 9.3% with 240,953 models sold through September.

“The past two years have seen a September sales month without the Labor Day holiday, which can present a challenge for our dealers, yet we still reported a year-over-year increase,” said Ron Stettner, vice president of sales, MNAO. “Sales growth continues to be the product of strong dealer support and SKYACTIV Technology, specifically the quality, fuel efficiency, technology and value found in Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5.”

Mazda6 Has Best September in 9 YearsWhen we say the “Mazda6 Has Best September in 9 Years” we mean it, and sales of the CX-5 were the best that they have ever been in September. The Mazda6 delivered 4,263 vehicles for a 34.6% year-over-year increase, and the CX-5 moved 8,097 vehicles for a 28.9% year-over-year increase.

As has been the trend, a huge percentage of Mazda’s overall sales belonged to vehicles powered by SKYACTIV® Technology. September was no different, with more than 84% of all Mazdas sold using the brand’s efficient technology.

Additionally, Mazda Certified Pre-Owned vehicles were up 17% with 3,513 vehicles moved in the month of September.
