The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded the 2015 Mazda CX-5 the top five-star overall safety rating. This rating puts the CX-5 at the head of the pack in the ever-growing compact crossover segment.
To achieve this overall rating, the CX-5 earned five stars in both the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover test.
The 2015 CX-5 has also been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for achieving the top ‘good’ rating in all crash tests, including the small overlap front crash test.
Standard safety features on the 2015 CX-5 include electric stability control, antilock brakes, and daytime running lights. Available safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring, an adaptive front-lighting system, a rearview camera, Smart City Brake Support, and all-wheel drive.
