You may remember last fall, when Redskins’ Running Back Alfred Morris had his 1991 Mazda 626 graciously restored by Mazda. Well, he’s still loving “The Bentley,” which is what he calls his car, and hasn’t even considered trading up for a real Bentley yet.
In fact, he loves his car so much he takes it on 34-hour road trips.
In a recent interview with ESPN Radio’s Football Today, he said, “I’m still driving my baby, the Bentley. She’s still alive and kicking. I actually did a road trip in the offseason; I drove from Ashburn all the way down to Boca Raton, which was like a 17-hour drive, and she made it like a champ. I actually beat a snow storm out. I hit a couple of ice spots in the road, so I was driving about 30, 40 miles per hour—just really slowed me down. But she made it there and back without a problem. Thanks, Mazda.”
What a great guy. While he went on to say that eventually he will get a new car, he’s in no rush to get rid of the Bentley. He says getting from Point A to Point B is enough for him.
Here at Bakersfield Mazda, while we don’t have something quite like a 1991 Mazda 626, we do have an extensive inventory of new and pre-owned Mazda cars. Stop by and find the car you can fall in love with.
If you operate a fleet of vehicles, one major concern is fuel costs. Having a fuel-efficient fleet can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year. With Mazda’s impressive fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology, it is capturing a larger part of the fleet industry every year.
Mazda reports that year-over-year fleet sales in the UK have risen 80 percent for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
Chris Stableford, Mazda’s UK fleet sales manager, said at a Fleet Show in Silvertone, UK, “Fleet operators and company car drivers are looking to save money and Skyactiv technology in the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5 enables them to do just that.”

As the end of the school year fast approaches, you may be thinking about the soon-to-be high school graduate in your life. Whether this is your own child, a grandchild, niece, nephew, or just a close friend, getting them a graduation gift can be a great way to show them you care and give them a great start in their college career. Here are ten of the best gifts for high school graduates.
Car. A car is a great way to send your budding academic into the adult world. And, it will make them an immediate hit with the rest of the freshman class. Come visit us at Bakersfield Mazda and we’ll give you a great deal on a quality used or new car.
Bicycle. If you can’t afford a car, a bicycle is a fantastic alternative to a car. Not only will it get them from point A to point B, but it is a great form of exercise.
Gift card. Do a little research and find out what stores are close to where they’ll be headed this fall and get them a gift card. If they’ll be taking a car, a gas card is a great option that is guaranteed to be used.
Noise cancelling headphones. These are great for studying in dorms. They cut out all the extra noise and will help your student focus on their work.
Laptop. The portability of a laptop is essential for many college students.
Luggage. Having a quality suitcase is a great option for students, especially those who “go away” to college and will be travelling frequently.
Games. While board games may seem old-school, they are a simple way to create a fun night and possibly make a few new friends.
Digital camera. Of course, many people use their smartphones to take pictures, having a quality digital camera may encourage your student to take a few more quality pictures to send home.
Alarm clock. Waking up for those 8 AM classes can be quite a challenge, so getting them a reliable alarm clock (instead of just using their phone) may help. Take a look at this rolling alarm clock that only lets you hit the snooze once before it rolls out of reach.
Cash. If all else fails, give your graduate some cash. They can always use to buy a book or two for their upcoming classes.
How will you be celebrating the high school graduate in your life?
While the 2016 model year will bring us an all-new Mazda MX-5 Miata, 2015 has its fair share of exciting Mazda news, including a 25th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5. And now Mazda has revealed how to get your hands on one of these truly limited editions.

This past winter Mazda Canada spent over three months sharing snapshots on its Instagram page of a winter road trip in a 2014 Mazda6. Each post fit together to create a large mosaic using Instagram’s Grid View. The feature is called “The Long Drive Home.”
This 2014 Mazda6 looks like it could have been taken right from the Instagram road trip
Each of the 60 images highlights a special event, such as the Chinese New Year, the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, and the changing seasons. There were even snapshots that showed off the Mazda6’s winter driving abilities. And, the best part, at the end of the Mazda6’s road trip, one lucky Mazda Canada Instagram fan, lifethroughthelens, got to drive a 2014 Mazda6 for two weeks.
