2014 Mazda CX-5 earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

IIHS Top Safety PickThe 2014 Mazda CX-5 has been announced as the recipient of the IIHS Top Saefty Pick for the 2013 year. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses — deaths, injuries and property damage — from crashes on the nation’s roads. This honor is only awarded to vehicles that achieve top marks in all categories which include frontal crash tests, restraints testing, and an injury measure. The accolade is earned by receiving “Good” marks for frontal moderate overlap crashes, side and rear impact crashes, and tests of roof strength.

Mazda‘s safety technologies such as the SkyActiv-Body and SkyActiv-Chassis, six-airbags, and much more have aided in the Mazda CX-5 joining the ranks of vehicles such as the Mazda3, Dodge Dart, Hyundai Elantra, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Subaru Forester, as well as 117 other vehicles that have received this prestigious award.

It seems as though the Mazda CX-5 is quickly becoming the dominant crossover in the Mazda line, as well as other sport crossovers.

Mazda3 earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

The Mazda3 has been announced as the recipient of the IIHS Top Saefty Pick for the 2013 year. The only category that the 2013 Mazda3 was awarded less than a GOOD was in the right foot injury test, it was still awarded an ACCEPTABLE status.

This now marks the second year in a row that the Mazda3 has received this award. Mazda‘s safety technologies such as the SkyActiv-Body and SkyActiv-Chassis, six-airbags, and much more have aided in the award being received. The Mazda3 joins 117 other vehicles which also include Mazda’s CX-5, in the top marked IIHS Top Safety Rating.
